Refrigerated cargo is a significant component of our volumes and we have some guidelines in place to make sure things run smoothly.
Drivers should have the necessary paperwork with them when they arrive. Global Bayonne reserves the right to void out drivers if they do not have the correct paperwork ready or cannot access it within a reasonable amount of time.
Drivers delivering hazardous reefer loads to the pier must present (2) clean dock receipts with the following information:
Container and booking number.
Vessel and voyage number.
Commodity, hazard class, IMO number, number of packages, packaging group, emergency response number, packaging certificate, and shipper declaration.
Temperature setting and ventilation requirements.
Gen-sets must be removed or disconnected before the empty container can be grounded. This must be done at the gen-set mounting area.
Dropping a refrigerated container off without being properly processed by the Reefer Department will result in a charge of $174.50
Drivers picking up a live reefer load without a gen-set, must have the ocean carrier update the system to show that no gen-set is required.
Releases should be completed prior to arrival at the terminal to avoid delays.
To check the gen-set requirement status, please click on the refrigeration monitoring link below and enter the container number. To change the requirement, you must log in or contact the appropriate ocean carrier contact.
All trucks seeking entry to any terminal in the Port of New York/New Jersey are required to have a PortTruckPass.
If you need a pass or require information about your account, please click below.
Due to ocean carrier or terminal requirements the ability to accept empty containers may change. Please check our current acceptance status by clicking this link:
At GCT Bayonne, we consider the trucking community to be a vital part of our business and we want to make sure that you experience efficient service at our terminal. Below are some guidelines to help your visit go more smoothly.
There are several ways for you to confirm that the cargo you are coming to pick up is available before entering the facility:
If the container to be delivered has associated fees/charges, guaranteeing charges prior to delivery will help expedite your departure.
While on the terminal premises please follow all posted signs, speed limits, directions, and instructions. This will ensure your safety as well as the safety of other truckers and employees.
